Dobsonville Mall, on the corner of Elias Motsoaledi Drive and Christian Dube Street, describes itself as the first township centre built in Soweto. A short background

Dobsonville fell under the Roodepoort Municipality until 1994, when it became part of Soweto. Its roots lie in Roodepoort’s old location, whose residents were moved here through forced removals between 1955 and 1967.
